As a briefing on the National Academy of Education’s white papers project, the Education Policy in Transition public forum was held at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC on November 18, 2008. The purpose of the forum was to allow researchers and policy leaders to engage with advisers to President-elect Barack Obama and Congressional staff in a discussion of some of the most urgent issues in education policy.
