Gene V Glass is a lecturer in the Connie L. Lurie College of Education of San Jose State University. He is Emeritus Regents’ Professor at Arizona State University. He received his BA in German and mathematics from the University of Nebraska and a MS and PhD in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin. He served as President of the American Educational Research Association in 1975. Glass has made many important contributions to education statistics, notably his development of meta-analysis. He applied meta-analysis to his often-cited research on the relationship of class size and achievement. He has published more than 15 books and 200 articles in scholarly and professional journals. Glass is the founding editor of Education Policy Analysis Archives, and executive editor of Education Review. In 2006, he was honored with the Distinguished Contributions to Educational Research award of AERA.
