We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the National Academy of Education (NAEd)/Spencer Dissertation and Postdoctoral Fellowships!

NAEd/Spencer Dissertation Fellowship 
Deadline to apply: October 5, 2023

The Dissertation Fellowship encourages a new generation of scholars from various disciplines and professional fields to undertake research relevant to improving education. These $27,500 fellowships support individuals whose dissertations show potential for bringing fresh and constructive perspectives to the history, theory, or practice of formal or informal education worldwide. Fellows will attend professional development retreats and receive mentorship from NAEd members and other senior scholars in their fields. This highly competitive program aims to identify the most talented emerging researchers conducting dissertation research related to education. The NAEd/Spencer Dissertation Fellowship will fund 35 promising scholars for the 2024-25 academic year. Visit our website to learn more about this opportunity.

NAEd/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship
Deadline to apply: November 15, 2023

The Postdoctoral Fellowship supports early-career scholars working in critical areas of educational scholarship. Fellows will receive $70,000 for one academic year of research or $35,000 for two contiguous years, working half-time. Fellows attend professional development retreats and receive mentorship from NAEd members and other senior scholars in their fields. Applicants must have had their Ph.D., EdD, or equivalent research degree conferred between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2022, to be eligible to apply this year. This fellowship is non-residential, and applications from all disciplines are encouraged. The Equity in Math Education Research Grants (EMERG) Program aims to reconceptualize and improve equitable and ambitious mathematical experiences for K-12 learners through an innovative program of research and development. Administered by the NAEd with generous funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the EMERG Program will award up to ten grants of approximately $113,000 each to be used over a period of two years. More details are available in the Call for Nominations.
