Stephen W. Raudenbush is the Lewis-Sebring Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Sociology, the Harris School of Public Policy, and the College at the University of Chicago. He is best known for developing hierarchical linear statistical models with application in research on child and youth development within social settings such as families, classrooms, schools, and neighborhoods. His current interests focus on the effectiveness of interventions that aim to improve math learning. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the recipient of the American Educational Research Association award for Distinguished Contributions to Educational Research.
