Bruce Alberts Receives the 2016 Lasker-Koshland Special Achievement Award in Medical Science

We would like to share the news and congratulate NAEd member Bruce Alberts on receiving the 2016 Lasker-Koshland Special Achievement Award in Medical Science for his leadership in improving science and math education among other contributions.

The prestigious Lasker Award recognize the contributions of scientists, physicians, and public servants who have made major advances in the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of human disease. In particular, Bruce Alberts was honored “For fundamental discoveries in DNA replication and protein biochemistry; for visionary leadership in directing national and international scientific organizations to better people’s lives; and for passionate dedication to improving education in science and mathematics.”
