NAEd/Center for Assessment Webinar: What does it take to implement more balanced assessment systems?
The National Academy of Education and the Center for Assessment invite you to join us for a webinar to explore the resources and practical advice provided in the recently published Implementing Balanced Assessment Systems: A Practical Guidebook for Districts & Schools.
We’ll explore ways district and school leaders can investigate threats to balanced assessment systems and use open-access resources to take practical next steps to improve their local assessment systems.
The book describes common threats to balanced assessment systems and provides practical next steps, open-access resources, and district and state stories of working towards more balanced assessment systems. It can help school and district leaders answer questions such as:
- How balanced is our local assessment system, and how would we know?
- What might be out of balance with our local system of assessments, given our instructional vision?
- How could we begin to improve the balance of our local assessment system?
The webinar will feature:
- Dr. Carla Evans, Associate Director, Center for Assessment
- Dr. Caroline Wylie, Senior Associate, Center for Assessment
- Dr. Erika Landl, Senior Associate, Center for Assessment
- Dr. Amy Berman, Deputy Director, National Academy of Education
- Dr. Sanée Bell, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Katy Independent School District (Texas)
- Dr. Sasha Klyachkina, District Assessment Manager, Chicago Public Schools (Illinois)
- Dr. Steven Snead, Supervisor of Curriculum & Assessment, Oakland Schools (Michigan)
