Meeting the Demand for Equitable Education in the Future: Honoring Edmund Gordon on His 100th Year

November 11, 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed and exacerbated educational inequality in unprecedented ways, and our goal for recovery is not to return to the past, but rather to achieve a better future for educational equity. This session, which honors the 100th birthday of Academy

member Edmund Gordon, examines educational opportunity and inequality today, and looks to the future of both education and education research in pursuing a pathway of greater equity. It concludes with remarks from Professor Gordon himself, who reflects on the future of educational equity from his unique vantage point.
