Carol Gilligan is University Professor and Professor of Applied Psychology and the Humanities at New York University. She was a member of the Harvard faculty for over 30 years and held the Patricia Albjerg Graham chair in Gender Studies. Her 1982 book In a Different Voice is described by Harvard University Press as "the little book that started a revolution." Her most recent books are: Why Does Patriarchy Persist? with Naomi Snider (Polity, 2018), Darkness Now Visible: Patriarchy's Resurgence and Feminist Resistance, with David A. J. Richards (Cambridge University Press, 2018) and the edited volume, The Crisis of Connection: Roots, Consequences and Solutions, with Niobe Way, Alisha Ali, and Pedro Noguera (NYU Press, 2018).
