Carola Suárez-Orozco

Carola Suárez-Orozco is a Senior Fellow at Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and Human Development and Director of the Immigrant Flourishing and Belonging (IFB) Initiative. Her research focuses on child and youth immigration experiences, with an emphasis on how school settings act as potentiating contact points between immigrant families and their new societies.

Her books include: Children of Immigration, Learning a New Land, and Transitions: The Development of the Children of Immigrants, among others. She has been awarded an American Psychological Association Presidential Citation for her contributions to the understanding of cultural psychology of immigration. She is also the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and is a member of both the National Academy of Education and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
