David C. Berliner is Regents' Professor Emeritus at Arizona State University. His research and popular writing focus on teaching, teacher education, and educational policy. He is co-author (with Bruce Biddle) of The Manufactured Crisis, which won the Outstanding Book Award from the American Educational Research Association. He co-authored 6 editions of the textbook Educational Psychology with N. L. Gage. With Gene V Glass he co-authored Fifty Myths and Lies That Threaten America's Public Schools, and served as co-editor of the First Handbook of Educational Psychology. For the American Educational Research Association he edited both the Review of Research in Education, and The Educational Researcher. He is a Fellow of the National Education Policy Center, Laureate Representative to Kappa Delta Pi, and on the Board of Directors of the Horace Mann League. He has been a visiting scholar or visiting professor in Australia, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Lithuania, Denmark, and Luxembourg.
