Paul Peterson is Henry Lee Shattuck Professor of Government at Harvard University, Director of the Program on Education Policy and Governance, and Senior Editor of Education Next: A Journal of Opinion and Research. He received his BA from Concordia College and his MA and PhD from the University of Chicago. Peterson has received the American Political Science Association’s Gladys Kammerer Award and its Martha Derthick Best Book Award, the Woodrow Wilson Prize, the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation fellowship, and the Russell Sage Foundation fellowship. His publications include The Price of Federalism, School Politics Chicago Style, City Limits, The Education Gap: Vouchers and Urban Schools, and Saving Schools: From Horace Mann to Virtual Learning.
