Tyrone C. Howard is the Pritzker Family Endowed Chair in the School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA. His research interests center on issues tied to race, equity, gender, and educational opportunities for minoritized populations. Professor Howard has published over 100 peer reviewed journal articles, books, book chapters, technical reports, essays, and bulletins on issues tied to educational access and opportunity. Professor was named an AERA Fellow in 2017, and was the recipient of the UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award in 2015. Professor Howard is a native of Compton, California, where he served as an elementary school teacher in the Compton Unified School District.
