Vivian Gadsden and Adam Gamoran Elected Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer; Amanda Datnow and Kevin Welner Join Board of Directors.
The National Academy of Education (NAEd) is pleased to announce that its members have elected Dr. Vivian Gadsden as Vice President and Dr. Adam Gamoran as Secretary-Treasurer, to serve alongside incoming President Dr. Alfredo J. Artiles, effective November 2025. All will serve four-year terms, succeeding current President Carol Lee, Vice President Pam Grossman, and Secretary-Treasurer Jim Spillane.
Vivian Gadsden is the William T. Carter Professor of Child Development and Education at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. Adam Gamoran is President of the William T. Grant Foundation.
Members also elected two distinguished educational leaders to four-year terms on the NAEd Board of Directors beginning November 2025:
Amanda Datnow is Professor and Chancellor’s Associates Endowed Chair in the Department of Education Studies and Associate Dean of the School of Social Sciences at the University of California, San Diego. Kevin Welner is Research Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder School of Education and Director of the National Education Policy Center.
