This Center for Assessment and National Academy of Education (NAEd) practical guidebook translates the research on balanced assessment systems into practical support and guidance for district and school leaders. This Guidebook is a companion to the 2024 volume, Reimagining Balanced Assessment Systems. It can help school and district leaders address questions such as:
- How balanced is our local assessment system and how would we know?
- What might be out of balance with our local system of assessments, given our instructional vision?
- How could we begin to improve the balance of our local assessment system?
