Use of Generative AI in Assessment

About This Project

Rapid advancements in generative AI technology present both opportunities and risks for educational assessments. Guided by the goals of creating and supporting assessments that can enhance learning for all students, this project aims to engage a broad spectrum of stakeholders in a community-wide effort to design a structured, collaborative roadmap report that will guide the ethically responsible and effective use of generative AI in learning assessments.

Diversity

Assessments need to embrace and incorporate students’ linguistic, cultural, and racial backgrounds.

Complex Learning

Assessments are part of a complex learning system.

Assessment Validity

The topic of assessment validity requires new approaches to include comparability of performance across identifiable variables.
